About the role

We are seeking a Superconducting Quantum RF Engineer to join our team and help develop cutting-edge tools for superconducting quantum circuit design. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with superconducting qubit design, microwave engineering, and electromagnetic simulation of quantum devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, simulate, and optimize superconducting quantum circuits including qubits, resonators, and coupling structures.
  • Develop and maintain Process Design Kits (PDKs) for superconducting quantum devices.
  • Perform electromagnetic simulations and microwave analysis for quantum circuit components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum device design workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of open-source tools for superconducting quantum circuit design.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in superconducting quantum computing and microwave engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with superconducting qubit design (transmon, fluxonium, etc.) and quantum circuit architectures.
  • Strong background in microwave engineering and RF circuit design.
  • Experience with EM simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, Sonnet, Palace, OpenEMS).
  • Proficiency in Python and scientific computing libraries.
  • Familiarity with quantum device physics and cryogenic microwave systems.
  • Experience with layout tools (e.g., GDSFactory, KLayout, Qiskit Metal) is a plus.
  • GIT proficiency and contributions to open-source projects.
  • Background in superconducting device fabrication processes is a plus.

This is a remote position. We welcome applicants who are passionate about advancing superconducting quantum computing through innovative design tools and methodologies.
