Job Description

We are looking for a talented and motivated Research Fellow to join our research in integrated quantum and nonlinear photonics. The project aims to develop integrated nonlinear resonators and to support the fabrication of quantum photonic circuits for quantum applications. Main device components to be developed include high-Q nonlinear microresonators for frequency conversion and photon-pair generation, and low-loss photonic circuits on thin-film lithium niobate and silicon nitride platforms.

This position will be hosted by Asst. Prof. Di ZHU’s group at the Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore (NUS). Successful candidates will be involved in, but not limited to, the following activities:

  • Design and fabricate nonlinear microresonators and integrated photonic devices
  • Develop and maintain nanofabrication processes for quantum photonic circuits
  • Perform optical and electrical characterization of integrated photonic devices
  • Assist in mentoring graduate students
  • Regularly disseminate research results through reports, presentations, and manuscripts

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree (completed or soon to be completed) in Physics, Applied Physics, Material Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant areas

• Knowledge in integrated photonics, nonlinear optics, and quantum optics

• Hands-on experience in nano/micro-fabrication of photonic devices is highly desired

• Programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab)

• Ability to work as a team and communicate effectivel
