About the role

Summary

QuEra Computing is seeking a Quantum Scientist with expertise in quantum error correction (QEC) and fault-tolerance. You will develop QEC codes and fault-tolerant protocols for our neutral atom quantum computers, working with theoretical, software, and experimental teams to design hardware-efficient schemes and benchmark logical performance. Your work will advance fault-tolerant logical operations and quantum algorithms, with opportunities to collaborate with academic and industry partners.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in quantum error correction and a strong foundation in quantum computing
  • Research contributions in QEC demonstrated through publications or software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across disciplines
  • Scientific programming skills in Python, C++, or a comparable language

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design of fault-tolerant logical operations or estimates of their resource requirements
  • Circuit-level QEC simulation, noise modeling, and logical error benchmarking
  • Experimental collaboration or QEC implementation on hardware, especially neutral atoms
  • High-performance or real-time decoder development in software or hardware
  • High-performance computing or machine learning applied to QEC
